TAROT is not scary!

I am Tara. Welcome to Tara-Cards. I want to make Tarot easy for all. I have been involved with Tarot for 45 years, and am eager to share what I’ve learned. Every day I meet people intrigued by tarot but afraid of what the cards will tell them. Tarot is for everyone and it is not going to predict dire things. It is a tool that can provide a graphical interpretation of what is going on in your subconscious. Meditation does it. Writing in a journal does it. A long walk to clear your head does it too. This is just another medium to help facilitate understanding of your world, and to find peace.

I would like to extend a very warm  welcome to Tara-Cards. I’m stoked you are here and excited about this journey we will take together.

Think of me as a compass pointing you in the right direction and keeping you on course.

A LITTLE BIT ABOUT ME…

Did I mention that I’m Tara? I have always been drawn to the unconventional, so my interest in tarot is not too surprising.  Not for me the traditional path in life!

I was first introduced to Tarot in the magical place known as the Esalen Institute, a center of humanistic potential complete with hot springs clinging to a cliff at the edge of the continent overlooking the vast Pacific.   I was fifteen and that deck was the Aleister Crowley ‘Thoth Tarot.’  Of course, knowing nothing else, I assumed that was THE Tarot deck.  I have since learned differently.  A quick search on Amazon yields over 7,000 results!  If you can think of a subject, there is sure to be a tarot deck that accompanies it.  But that is important, because you need to connect to a deck – the way it looks, feels in your hands, and how it “speaks” to you.

In the many years since that first introduction, I have remained fascinated and collected and hoarded information (and a few decks) like precious gems. Some years ago, I “came out of the closet” with tarot and started offering readings to my friends.  They started dubbing them “Tara-Cards,” and the name stuck.  Tarot is a tool that helps us to understand and navigate the world around us.  It is a great graphic way to tap into our own knowing and intuition.  It is that and it is so, so much more.

I truly hope the information that I am so pleased to be able to share with you inspires, educates, makes tarot feel approachable, and conveys some of the enthusiasm I have for the Tarot Cards.

I DO occasionally offer readings via discord or zoom, so if you feel called to that, or have questions or other comments, please reach out.

I wish you happy reading and look forward to our journey together through The Tarot.
